Handling sound services for weddings involves a number of separate skills, all of which must work together.
- Announcements must be made throughout the event. I have extensive experience as an MC, but if you have your own, I can also
make sure they have a wireless mic, and constantly monitor their sound
- Live Sound
- Similarly, there are a number of parts of most weddings that involve mics. The ceremony itself may involve mics,
then there are announcements and toasts. These each involve different people with different voices and vocal volumes.
I have extensive experience in bringing each voice out clearly, but not painfully loudly.
- This is, of course, what most people think of when they hire a wedding DJ (it's in the name, after all). This extends from the
wedding music itself, to background music during any cocktails and dinner, to special events (money dance, cake cutting, garter toss,
etc), to, of course, dance DJing. It's the DJ's job to provide each style, and to switch seamlessly from one type of music to the
next, while keeping an eye on the schedule and checking regularly with the wedding coordinator.
- Most weddings don't involve it, but it is a service I can provide, and am occasionally called upon to do so.
My professionalism and attention to detail show through when I'm working weddings - after all, they require near constant focus
for up to 8 hours. Depending on the location and timeline, I may be setting up and alternating between two different sound systems for
different parts of the event, or as for one wedding, two different sets of speakers on two boat decks for one sound system. Yet I've
always been prepared, unruffled, and constantly in the background.
When I'm booked, I will work with you to set up an event timeline, then figure out genres
and specific songs for each part of that timeline. The important thing is to always make sure everything goes as you want it to.
Please feel free to contact me about any weddings I can work for you. You can read about what I bring
and do for you here, but don't hesitate to ask me any questions.
